On the 3rd (final) day the students and coaches are back at University of Yangon after two exciting days of Teamwork, Lectures and Field trips with Water Bus to Myanmar Industrial Port, Myanmar Port Authority and Yangon City Development Committee (YCDC). Now it's time for the students to design their own storyboards based on their four assignment of the previous days. It's very impressive to see the amount of information and visuals have been gathered. Especially the interactions with their stakeholders during the Field Trips was beneficial. No time to waste to set their priorities and craft a short and appealing story to present already present this afternoon during the Grand Final with 20+ special invited guests.
The University of Yangon proved to be good meeting place (Water Hub) to learn and share information about water topcis. The students had access to an eco-system of expertise of international water experts, reports and facilities as print-stations to bring their story alive with visuals. The outcomes for Htee City and Smart Port were very inspirational, different and unique in its kind. Please find different team photo with StoryBoard.
The students were very excited to share their Storyboard in person with our guest of honor of the Yangon Region Government H.W. Daw Nilar Kyaw, Minister of Electricity, Industry, Transportation and Communications. After a short registration (Spotlight Photo Session) at the Yangon Water Hub H.W. Daw Nilar Kyaw visited the different activities that were ongoing (e.g. innovation stations) in the Hub. The first Team shared their key words and visuals for the 'DNA of Yangon' and presented their vision for Yangon Smart Port. "A smart port means smart economy" The second Team was focussed on Water in the City and explained how Yangon Htee City could become reality. There was a lot of interactions between H.W. Daw Nilar Kyaw and the students.
All students received their certificate of successfully completion of their 3 Day Mini-Water MBA by U Cho Cho (Chairman of the NWRC Advisory Group) and H.E. Wouter Jurgens (Ambassador to Kingdom of the Netherlands in Myanmar).
Besides eternal fame and being part of collaboration between Myanmar and the Netherlands on newly announced Urban Water Logistics for Greater Yangon program, the students of the winning team have the opportunity to visit the Heineken Brewery to learn more about their good water supply and waste water practices - but mostly importantly to apply for their Internship program! Visiting guests (DWIR, NEPS, MPA, YCDC, Netherlands Embassy) were invited to be a judge and to score the students on A / B / C/ D. Although everybody is already a winner, but the judges concluded that Team C with their 3Cs (Clean Comfortable City) integrated all elements a little bit better in their Storyboard to become overall winner of this Myanmar Netherlands Water Challenge edition 2018.
We already received many evaluation forms and it looks like the students appreciated the 3 day program very much and are inspired to continue their career in the Water Sector. The students were very grateful to be inspired by (young) coaches, and we are sure we will stay in touch with these young rising stars.
Also, thank u you all for supporting/ inspiring young mm professions. I m sure the impacts are not small on these young stars.
